WHY COVENANT HANDS BEGAN:
Covenant Hands was founded from a simple belief: access to compassion and healthcare should never depend on someone's circumstances.
Throughout my experiences volunteering in hospitals, hospice care, and international medical outreach, I met people facing barriers that extended far beyond medical treatment. Many lacked basic necessities, access to preventive care, or someone willing to simply listen and walk alongside them.
After being baptized and surrendering my life to Jesus Christ, those experiences took on a deeper meaning. My faith taught me that serving others is not simply an act of kindness, but an expression of humility, compassion, and love. I began to see healthcare as more than treating illness—it was an opportunity to care for people with dignity and to serve them as Christ calls us to serve one another
I realized that meaningful change often begins with presence. Sometimes it's a hygiene kit. Sometimes it's connecting someone to a clinic. Sometimes it's partnering with organizations already doing incredible work and helping them reach even more people.
Covenant Hands was created to meet immediate needs while building long-term relationships that restore dignity, improve health, and strengthen communities.

Our Story *
WHY WE EXIST:
Too often, people facing hardship are treated as statistics rather than individuals. Covenant Hands exists to restore dignity through practical support, meaningful relationships, and compassionate care.
Whether it's a hygiene kit, a community outreach event, a clinic referral, or a sponsored improvement project, our goal is simple: meet people where they are and serve them with respect.
HOW WE WORK:
We begin with presence.
Through monthly outreach initiatives, hygiene supply distribution, healthcare navigation, and partnerships with trusted community organizations, we focus on meeting immediate needs while helping create long-term pathways to wellness. Rather than replacing the work already being done, we strengthen it by partnering with clinics, shelters, churches, and local organizations serving underserved communities.
WHERE WE’RE STARTING:
2026
Launch Health on the Block outreach events in Ventura County and Los Angeles.
Distribute hygiene and essential care supplies.
Build partnerships with clinics, shelters, churches, and community organizations.
Future
Expand preventive healthcare outreach.
Support healthcare facilities through equipment and supply sponsorships.
Develop international partnerships beginning in Costa Rica.
This makes people feel like they're joining something that's growing.
WHAT FAITH LOOKS LIKE HERE
Faith is our foundation, not a requirement for receiving help.
We serve every person regardless of religion, race, background, nationality, or belief. While our work is inspired by Christ's example of humility and service, assistance is always offered freely and without conditions.
Our hope is simple: to be the hands and feet of compassion wherever we are called to serve.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Covenant Hands was founded by Leilah Roussin, a UC Berkeley graduate with a B.S. in Microbial Biology who is pursuing a career in medicine. After surrendering her life to Jesus Christ, her calling to serve others became the foundation for Covenant Hands. Through years of volunteering in hospitals, hospice care, and international healthcare settings, she developed a passion for expanding access to compassionate, preventative care for underserved communities. She believes that lasting impact begins by meeting people where they are, serving with humility, and reflecting Christ's love through compassionate action.
